Handmade Christmas Nativity Giveaway!

What a crazy year this has been for us all, and difficult if you want to display your work at shows. Last year, I worked hard to get accepted into some bigger venues only to have them all cancelled because of, you know, the virus. My work is very detailed with amazing color blends, so I hope you can enjoy my creations via my social media accounts (mentioned below). If you’d like to purchase one or more of my handmade Christmas nativity ornaments, check out my Shop!

In addition, if you order an ornament before December 16th, there should be enough time to receive nativities before Christmas. By purchasing from me, you’ll be supporting a local Wichita, Kansas area artist! I’ve created a variety of nativity options for you to choose from as well as nativity story stones so you can share the birth of Jesus with your children or grandchildren. In addition, you can choose from a larger 2 1/2″ X 2 1/2″ sized manger scene or the adorable, miniature Christmas ornament.

If you’re on Facebook or Instagram, I am running a giveaway for a handmade Christmas nativity ornament. Details will be posted there or you can click on the embedded Facebook post included in this article. I hope you will check it out.  And if you are local to the Wichita area, I would be glad to meet up to save on shipping costs. Just contact me or send a private message on Facebook. Thanks!

Handmade Christmas Nativity from a Local Artist in the Wichita Area

With all that is going on in the world, there is no better time than Christmas to remember that God sent Himself in the form of a baby to become the propitiation for our sin and save us from the wrath to come that our sin deserves to give us new life in Christ.

Emmanuel – God with us! May you know Christ as your Savior and King forever.

Merry Christmas!

DIY Baby Jesus Christmas Ornament Video!

DIY Baby Jesus Christmas Ornament Video

Matthew 2 recounts the story of the Wise Men on their journey to follow the star and visit Jesus.  Their travels led them to Jesus’ feet, where they presented him with three very special gifts.  As Matthew 2:11 says, “And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.”1

Like the Wise Men, we also celebrate Jesus’ birth by giving gifts to each other.  Of course, the greatest gift of Christmas is the one Jesus Himself gave us by coming to earth to live, die and be resurrected for our sins.  But we honor Him when we share with others the blessings He’s given to us.  This can take the form of a physical present or can even be the gift of time to loved ones.

If you’re looking for the perfect gift this Christmas, check out my shop page for beautiful handmade clay Nativity scenes.  Each Nativity is hand-crafted with love and is available in several skin tones.  I also have ornaments for sale to hang on your Christmas tree.

But that’s not all!  As mentioned in an earlier post, I’m now offering a DIY (Do It Yourself) Baby Jesus Christmas Ornament Kit for sale. This ornament kit is only $7.95 and you can buy it right here on my website or at the Fall Artisan Festival at University United Methodist Church this Saturday, November 9 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

These DIY ornament kits are perfect for sharing the Christmas story with your children or grandchildren.  As you work with the children to form the clay pieces, tell them about how Jesus came from heaven to earth to save us from our sins.  Then, place the swaddled “baby” on the clay straw and manger and explain how Jesus is the King, but He chose to live a humble life and was placed in a manger (where animals feed from) after he was born. Taking the time to create a special ornament together will mean so much to them…and will be something for them to treasure later when they hang it on their tree each year.

I hope you enjoy these kits and take a few moments to look around my site!  Check out my video below to see how to make the ornament after purchasing it.

Along with my hand crafted clay manger line up, I have added some new original items including a polymer clay kit where your child can make their own baby Jesus in a manger ornament. We made these at my granddaughter’s school last year and it was really fun. If you like doing craft projects with your kids or grandkids and want something unique for the perfect Christmas gift, you’ll want to order one of these kits! I hope to add a video demonstrating just how to make it soon!

If you are on Facebook, here’s a heads up! I will be running a contest between both craft shows on Facebook at ShariLynn Art so be sure to check it out. Details for the contest will be posted on Facebook sometime closer to the first show on November 2 – be watching for more details!  (And if you are not a Facebook user, you can still enter the contest while attending either show above.)

Fall Artisan Festival

Please join me next Saturday, November 10, for the Fall Artisan Festival at the University Methodist Church, located just north of WSU at 2220 N. Yale (Click for map).  I’ll be selling my beautiful handcrafted Christmas clay nativities…you don’t want to miss this special event!

Shari's Christmas Clay Nativities are handcrafted and will be available for purchase at the Fall Artisan Festival on Nov 10, 2018!

The show includes talented artists and crafters who specialize in handcrafted items – a great way to get a jump on your Christmas list if you enjoy gifting unique hand crafted items.  They will also be serving lunch and selling home baked goods.

If you are on Facebook, you can preview some of the featured artist vendors on the Fall Artisan Festival page or learn more about the event here.

This is the first time for me to be in this show.  I’m excited to see how it goes and to celebrate will be running a very unique special on my Christmas clay nativity ornaments.  You will have to stop by to see what it is, I guarantee it will be worth your time if you are interested in gifting several ornaments.

The challenging aspect of doing a show is that I try to have lots of inventory available which means I’ve been working diligently – each ornament or one of the Christmas clay nativities is made individually.  The colors are mixed carefully one at a time to create one of a kind ornaments.   They do take a lot of time to make but that is because I try to pay special attention to detail. You might not realize how much time they take when you see many displayed at once.  Please pick one up and look at the detail so you can see for yourself what I mean.

I love Christmas because we celebrate the greatest Gift ever given to man, the gift when God became man to save us from our sins.  I also love nativities because they remind me of the why we celebrate Christmas which is why I created this design and hope to develop others in the near future.

Please do stop by next Saturday and check out my ornament special.  I’d also appreciate your feedback about my artwork, including the Christmas clay nativities – feel free to send ideas that might help me create new designs.  You can reach me via my contact form.
